HOW IT ALL BEGAN

We’ve been working with pewter for over 25 years now. It’s our passion, our creative outlet, our homage to our history.

Love at First Sight


Tom and Pat met at a small renaissance festival in Hanford, CA. We were introduced by a common friend, and she will tell you that it was love at first sight.

Dabbling in Pewter


When we met, Tom had a business making fragrance products. We were mostly wholesale and our customers were asking for accessories. We started playing with pewter to make incense burners & perfume oil bottles.

ASL Pewter is Born


When we first started, we were signing the fragrance company name, Astral Sea. Ltd on all our pieces. We very quickly abbreviated it to ASL Pewter, and the name stuck.

Move to the Midwest

We really wanted to be central to the country and to have four real seasons, without being snowed in or baked alive! So, in December of 1995, we moved to Salem, MO.

Ste. Genevieve Becomes our Home


We had known of Ste. Genevieve for several years and were finally in a position to relocate here in October of 2014. We purchased an historic building and opened our doors on January 21, 2015.

OUR FAVORITE AWARDS  & EVENTS

  • We have done work for the Sydney Opera House, United Artists, & the United States Supreme Court.

  • We made all the pewter for the HBO John Adams miniseries in 2008.

  • We’ve sold pieces to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Folk Art Museum.

  • We were part of the 18th Century Market on the grounds at George Washington’s home in Mount Vernon, VA.

  • For many years now, we’ve been participating in Best of Missouri Market at the MO Botanical Gardens.

  • We’ve won awards at the Cedarhurst Arts & Crafts Show, Q-Fest in Quincy, IL, the Pink Palace Craft Show and Art in the Loop, both in Memphis.
